The vehicle-mounted device includes a request unit configured to request the mobile terminal to provide start-up notification for an application stared in the mobile terminal, a reception unit configured to receive the start-up notification through the connection unit, and a control unit configured to control selection of an operation mode such that the operation mode corresponding to the application identified by the start-up notification is selected.

1. An electronic device comprising:
a connection unit configured to enable connection between the electronic device and an external device that stores one or more applications; a selection unit configured to select at least one operation mode from among a plurality of operation modes; an output unit configured to output information on the basis of the operation mode selected by the selection unit; a request unit configured to request the external device to provide start-up notification for an application started in the external device, in response to connection by the connection unit; a reception unit configured to receive the start-up notification through the connection unit; and a control unit configured to control the selection unit so as to select an operation mode corresponding to the application identified by the start-up notification.
