摘要 A method of repairing a wear or cutting element of a tool, the tool comprising a sintered polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) structure bonded to a cemented metal carbide substrate, an example of which is a PDC cutter for an earth-boring drill. One example of the method comprises heating a spot within the damaged area of the substrate while introducing the inlay material to the spot, resulting in the substrate at the spot being heated and the inlay material melting onto the spot, without heating the substrate to the point of causing graphitization or rupture of diamond-to-diamond bonds of the diamond structure.
