A method of accelerating remyelination or suppressing demyelination of neurons in a mammal, the method comprising administering a compound of Formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof to the mammal: wherein, in Formula 1, R1 and R2 are each independently H or —(C═O)(C1-C6 alkyl), or R1 and R2 together are ═N-phenyl, in which the phenyl is substituted with a carboxyl group and a hydroxyl group; and R3 is an aminophenyl in which the amino group is optionally substituted with —(C═O)(C1-C6 alkyl); or —NR6R7, wherein R6 and R7 are each independently H, —(C═O)(C1-C6 alkyl), or a heteroaryl having 3 to 8-membered ring atoms.
