Search and Recovery of Mobile Devices

Search and recovery is performed for a lost or stolen mobile device. When the mobile device is lost or stolen, the mobile device may transmit a recovery signal for receipt by another device. If an acknowledgment is received, the mobile device confirms discovery by sending its current location. Moreover, seeker devices may be conscripted to search for the lost or stolen mobile device.

a processor; and a memory storing instructions that when executed causes the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising: transmitting a recovery signal from a lost mobile device; receiving an acknowledgement confirming receipt of the recovery signal; retrieving a current location of the lost mobile device; and transmitting, from the lost mobile device, the current location for recovery.
