The present invention provides a high resolution apparatus for displaying a photonic crystal, the apparatus capable of displaying clear color, image, information or the like. The apparatus includes photonic crystal particles and first electrophoretic particles. When an electric field is applied, distance or arrangement of the photonic crystal particles are adjusted by intensity or direction of the applied electric field so as to reflect incident light as a reflected light in a first wavelength range. When the electric field is not applied, the incident light is reflected as the reflected light in a second wavelength range by substance itself constituting the photonic particles. The first electrophoretic particles reflect at least a portion of the incident light as the reflected light in a third wavelength range to cause a destructive interference or a diffraction interference with the reflected light in the second wavelength range so as to reduce the intensity of the reflected light in the second wavelength range reflected from the photonic crystal particles.
