Class 38(5) In a circuit-breaker of the general character disclosed in Specifications 669,656, 690,530, 709,717 and 709,767, the point of engagement of the end 10<SP>1</SP> of the bimetallic latch 10 with an abutment surface 12 formed at the lower end of a plate 14 secured to the actuator plunger 16, is varied by adjusting a screw 28 in the plunger 16 which engages a tongue 14<SP>1</SP> pressed out of plate 14. The latch 10 is connected with a guide plate 20 slidably engaging a wear plate 26 provided on a ledge 22 of the plunger. Alternatively, Fig. 5, the abutment may be in the form of a block 44 movably mounted in a recess 46 in the plunger by a screw 54, axial movement of the screw being prevented hv a keeper 56. In another embodiment, Fig. 6, two bimetallic latch plates 64 have their ends 64' abutting two blocks 62" interconnected by a screw 66 which when turned causes the blocks to move towards or away from each other.
