[Class 121] [Also in Groups VIII, III, and XVII] Water-soluble protein glue or gum is flexibilized with sorbitol or a mixture of a poly- 'hydric alcohol and at least 50 per cent sorbitol. Glues and gums specified are zein, albumen, gelatine, hide glue, bone glue, gum karaya, gum tragacanth, gum arabic, gum acacia, dextrine, &c. Polyhydric alcohols specified are ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, glycerol, xylitol, and iditol. Specifications 495,352 and 501,559 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the glue or gum may be flexibilized by polyhydric alcohols unmixed with sorbitol and refers to the use of mixtures of mannitol and glycerine and of dulcitol and glycerine for.this purpose. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.</p> |
