Disclosed is an image sensor capable of obtaining images and proximity. The sensor includes a proximity signal generation circuit which generates a proximity signal of a target object based on the pixel signal of a pixel array. The proximity signal generation circuit generates the proximity signal based on the average of the pixel signals outputted from a plurality of pixels included in the pixel array.
