The present invention relates to a method for mounting a thruster in a semi-submersible rig, which enables the installation of a thruster in a rig in a minimum water depth. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for mounting a thruster in a semi-submersible rig enables the easy installation of a thruster as the thruster in a horizontal state is moved in a horizontal direction and then is installed in a thruster room. Moreover, the present invention enables the installation of the thruster even in a condition that the minimum water depth required for a work is 10% less than a conventional condition required for a work where the thruster in a vertical state is moved in a horizontal direction and is installed in the thruster room.
