Additional channels using preamble symbols

A first transmitting method comprises: mapping signaling information to one or more preamble symbols of a first frame; mapping data to one or more data symbols of the first frame; dividing additional information into two or more parts; mapping a first part of the additional information to one or more preamble symbols of the first frame; mapping a second part of the additional information to at least one of (i) one or more data symbols of the first frame, and (ii) one or more preamble symbols of a second frame; and transmitting the frames. The step of mapping signaling information and additional information comprises selecting one or more transmission parameters for at least one of the signaling information and the additional information such that the preamble symbols provide capacity for both the signaling information and the additional information.
