The present invention relates to a motor driving device and an air conditioner including the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the motor driving device includes: a rectifier which rectifies an input AC power source; a boost converter which boosts and outputs the power source rectified by the rectifier; a capacitor which stores a ripple voltage outputted from the boost converter; an inverter which includes multiple switching devices and uses the ripple voltage to output the converted AC power to a motor; and a converter control unit which controls the boost converter to reduce a peak value of the ripple voltage by using high frequency waves corresponding to the phase of the input voltage. Accordingly, the motor driving device, which uses the boost converter and the low capacity capacitor, can reduce the maximum voltage on a DC end. |
