The present invention refers to the design, construction, characterization, expression and use of a peptide (immunogens) resulting from the native peptide rPg8 (having the same amino acidic sequence than the SEQ). ID NO: 1) an its fusion rHFXaPg8 protein (SEQ. ID NO: 3) of the Parabuthus granulatus scorpion venom, which affects sodium channels in mammals; fragments of DNA encoding the same; genetic constructions comprising DNA fragments encoding said immunogens; and the uses thereof as immunogen for the production in non-human mammals, including horses, of antibodies against the total soluble venom of scorpions of the genus Parabuthuss; also referring to serotherapeutic and antivenom agents obtained from said antibodies. The invention further relates to expression vectors comprising the DNA fragments encoding the recombinant immunogens of the present invention, the recombinant host cells which comprise such vectors, as well as the methods for the expression thereof. |
