A radiofrequency laparoscopic surgical device comprising a body 1 forming a handle, a first tube 2 connected to the body 1, a second (shorter) tube 3 pivotally attached to the end of the first 2, and one or more needle electrodes 4 moveable between a protected and an operating position. The short tube 3 further has a drive mechanism 6, preferably in the form of a knob, for adjusting its angular position relative to the first tube 2. The drive mechanism 6 further preferably comprising a worm gear 11 connected to the short tube 3 by means of a short 12 and a long tow bar 13. It is also preferable that the movement of the needles 4 are operated by a second drive mechanism 7, preferably a knob. This second drive mechanism 7 may comprise a bevel gear 14 connected, via both a flexible coupling 16 and a rotary tow bar 15, to a screw 17 located in the short tube 3. Wherein actuation of the secondary drive mechanism 7 rotates the screw 17, thus driving a sliding nut 18 to which the needle electrodes 4 are fastened. |
