Disclosed by the present invention is a wrist watch type portable terminal capable of being attached and detached. The wrist watch type portable terminal comprises: a main body unit wherein a main power supply device is arranged to provide time information; and a wearing unit combined with the main body unit such that a user is able to wear the main body unit on the body, is connected with the main body unit in order to be attached and detached, and has an auxiliary power supply device arranged to assist the power supply of a main power device. The main body unit comprises: a storage unit arranged to store data required by the main body unit; a communication unit arranged to wirelessly communicate with an external electronic device; a first interface unit arranged to supply power; and a second interface unit arranged to perform a wired communication with the external electronic device. As such, the wrist watch type portable terminal in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention is able to be used for a long time by replacing at least one watch strap by mounting the auxiliary power supply device on the watch strap capable of being attached and detached from the main body in a method of efficiently changing a charging system to solve a power supply problem of the wrist watch type portable terminal; and to be used without inconvenience of carrying an extra communication cable whenever the wrist watch type portable terminal performs a wired data communication with an external electronic device using the watch strap as a communication cable.
