A portable solar charger with multiple thin film solar cells 1 that are deployed from the device housing 2 in a pivotal radial manner forming a full or partial circle, similar to a fan or petals, to provide maximum surface area for solar collection. The charging device is used to charge the battery of personal electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets, via a connector 3 on the housing. The connector is preferably within a moulded cradle that can support a small electronic device allowing continued usage whilst recharging. When not in use, the photovoltaic cells are retracted back into the housing for protection and portability, reducing the overall size. |
