An infant carrier 10 includes a surrounding frame 112, a seat portion 14 pivotally connected with the surrounding frame, a headrest portion 12 pivotally connected with the frame, a backrest portion 13 respectively connected pivotally with the seat and the headrest, and a latching mechanism 15 assembled with the backrest and operable to selectively engage with either the seat or the headrest. Said latching mechanism being configured to lock the carrier in either a bassinet configuration or a seat configuration. The seat and backrest are substantially coplanar with the headrest extending at an angle from the backrest to the surrounding frame when the carrier is in the bassinet configuration, and the headrest and the backrest are substantially coplanar and the backrest extends at an angle from the seat when the carrier is in the seat configuration (See figure 2). In another embodiment the latch may slide between first and second ends of the backrest portion (figure 9) when locking the carriers in the bassinet and seat configuration. |
