Provided is a sheet folding device including a folding roll that is rotatably provided and includes a large diameter portion of which a diameter is greater than a diameter of another portion, and performs a folding process while pressing the large diameter portion onto a sheet, and a contact portion displacement unit that makes a position of a contact portion that is a portion coming into contact with the large diameter portion in the sheet when the sheet on which the folding process has been performed by the folding roll passes through the folding roll again different from a position of the contact portion when the sheet passes through the folding roll for the last time.

1. A sheet folding device comprising:
a folding roll that is rotatably provided and includes a large diameter portion and a small diameter portion, the large diameter portion having a diameter that is greater than a diameter of the small diameter portion, and the folding roller performing a folding process while pressing the large diameter portion onto a sheet; and a contact portion displacement unit that moves the folding roll from a first position to a second position in an axial direction of the folding roll, and makes a position of a contact portion that is a portion of the sheet coming into contact with the large diameter portion when the sheet on which the folding process has been performed by the folding roll passes through the folding roll at the second position different from a position of the contact portion when the sheet passes through the folding roll at the first position, wherein the folding roll includes
a first roll that includes a plurality of first large diameter portions of which diameters are greater than diameters of the another portions; anda second roll that is provided along the first roll and includes a plurality of second large diameter portions of which diameters are greater than diameters of the another portions in positions facing the first large diameter portions, respectively, and wherein the contact portion displacement unit moves the first roll and the second roll together in a direction intersecting the sheet transporting direction while maintaining a state where the first large diameter portions and the second large diameter portions face each other.
