The objective of the present invention is to provide a photovoltaic device which has high photoelectric conversion efficiency and an electron-donating organic material which comprises a conjugate polymer having a structure of a thieno[3,4-b′]thiophene skeleton with an alkoxycarbonyl group in which a specific alkyl group part is a straight chain alkyl group or an alkanoyl group in which the alkyl group part is a straight chain alkyl group and a benzo[1,2-b:4, 5-b′]dithiophene skeleton with a heteroaryl group. |

A conjugated polymer having a structure represented by formula (1): wherein R1 represents an alkoxycarbonyl group in which an alkyl group part is a straight chain alkyl group or an alkanoyl group in which an alkyl group part is a straight chain alkyl group, and the groups may be substituted as long as they maintain a straight chain structure; each of R2s which may be the same or different represents an optionally substituted heteroaryl group; X represents a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, n is a polymerization degree and represents an integer of 2 or more and 1000 or less. |
