According to an aspect of the present invention, a recording method comprises the following sequential steps of: applying a reactant to an intermediate transfer body to enable the reactant to thicken upon contact with ink; forming an intermediate image by applying ink to the intermediate transfer body maintaining the reactant; applying auxiliary liquid to the intermediate image to form an intermediate image layer wherein the auxiliary liquid contains a water-soluble polymer; and transferring the intermediate image layer to a recording medium. At least one selected from the group consisting of the reactant, the ink, and the auxiliary liquid contains a certain compound. |
