An electrophoretic display device comprises a data line charging circuit, an adjustment resistor (R_sw), a first switch (SW), a second switch (SW), and a control circuit. The data line charging circuit sets a potential of a data line by V_dd/2 which is a precharge potential, during precharge period T. R_sw adjusts a value of V_dd/2 which is the precharge potential. The first SW connects one end of the data line to a data line driving circuit or R_sw. The second SW connects/disconnects the other end of the data line to/from the data line charging circuit. The control circuit controls the second SW to connect the other end to the data line charging circuit to initiate a precharge operation after controlling the first SW to connect the one end to R_sw. |
