1. A method for preventing a packet channel in a communication network to time out, the communication network having an interface device connected to a core network and the interface device is configured to connect a user terminal to the core network, the method comprising:
sending data from a cache of the interface device to the user terminal, wherein the cache is located at the interface device; determining, by the interface device, that the data is sent to the user terminal from the cache without passing the core network; and generating and sending a dummy message through the core network to a device having an internet protocol, IP, address when data is sent from the cache to the user terminal so that an inactivity timer does not release the packet channel.
