METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POWER SUPPLY FOR SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING AND APPARATUS FOR THE SAME

The present invention relates to a method to control a power supply of shielded metal arc welding, and a device for the same. The present invention provides a control device for shielded metal arc welding which not only has a simple current control function, but also a hot start current control function and a short current control function. The method to control the power supply of the shielded metal arc comprises: a current rising step of raising a current value when a short-circuit is detected, wherein the short-circuit is generated between a welding rod and a base material during welding; and a current decreasing step of decreasing the current provided in the welding rod when dissolution of the short-circuit is detected.
