1. A lightguide receiving light from a light source, the lightguide comprising:
an array of light extraction structures for extracting light from the lightguide, wherein the array of light extraction structures includes a plurality of aspherical light extraction structures each having a base, a top, and a height defined between the base and the top, and at least one of the light extraction structures is a truncated aspheric light extraction structure, wherein the height of the plurality of aspherical light extraction structures varies throughout the array, and wherein a light extraction structure efficiency of the light extraction structures is reduced through truncation of the respective light extraction structures in regions of the array relatively closer to the light source.
