A multi-speed automatic transmission powertrain of the present invention is equipped with a powertrain composed of four planetary gear sets (10, 20, 30, 40) including sun gears, carriers, and ring gears; and five friction members consisting of first, second, third, and fourth clutches (CL1, CL2, CL3, CL4) and a first brake (B1). In addition, a first sun gear (S1); a first carrier (C1), a third carrier (C3), and a fourth ring gear (R4); a second sun gear (S2); a second carrier (C2); a second ring gear (R2); a third ring gear (R3); a fourth sun gear (S4); and a third sun gear (S3) and a fourth carrier (C4) are first rotary element (N1) to eighth rotary element (N8). Moreover, eight forward speeds and one reverse speed are realized by various arrangements of the first, second, third, and fourth clutches (CL1, CL2, CL3, CL4) with respect to the first rotary element (N1) to the eighth rotary element (N8), and especially, a speed change is realized by a sequential speed change method where one of the first, second, third, and fourth clutches (CL1, CL2, CL3, CL4) and the first brake (B1) is released, and one thereof is held. According to the present invention, therefore, since the multi-speed automatic transmission powertrain of the present invention is composed of four planetary gear sets and one brake, an increase in the number of internal components can be minimized. |
