摘要 The present invention provides a method for preparing polyvinyl acetate comprising the steps of: adding a reaction initiator and reaction catalyst to vinyl acetate monomers under supercritical carbon dioxide to form a mixture (step 1); carrying out agitation polymerization of the mixture at a temperature of 45-80°C under a pressure of 10-60 MPa (step 2); and recovering polyvinyl acetate from the agitation polymerized reaction mixture (step 3). The method uses supercritical carbon dioxide as a solvent to obtain polyvinyl acetate having a low polydispersity index and narrow molecular weight distribution, even if a new reaction catalyst capable of reuse is introduced in a very small amount. In addition, it is possible to increase the controllability and reaction rate during the polymerization and to obtain separability and regenerability by using copper wires, and thus to commercialize and scale up atom transfer radical polymerization.
