Disclosed is a pairing device. The pairing device includes: a first communication unit which broadcasts a search signal for RF communication type pairing and receives a first response signal to the search signal from an external communication device; a second communication unit which receives a second response signal spread limitedly in a space, where the external communication device is placed, from the external communication device; and a control device which performs pairing with the external communication device if both the first response signal and the second response signal are received. The second communication unit is activated at regular time intervals while the paring device is turned on and receives the second response signal while being activated. The activation interval is set adaptively to the transmission interval of the second response signal. The period when the second communication unit is activated is at least partially overlapped with the period when the second response signal is transmitted.
