The invention provides an excavating method, a data searching method and a device for keywords capable of defaulting. The excavating method and the data searching method for the keywords capable of defaulting comprise that similarity calculation is performed to a first searching result corresponding to a first inquiring request and including at least two keywords and a second searching result corresponding to a second inquiring request of subsets of the at least two keywords, then a similarity value obtained is compared with a set threshold value and the keywords capable of defaulting of the keywords included in the first inquiring request can be confirmed so that in the process of data search, the data search can be performed according to other keywords besides the keywords capable of being defaulted can be searched in the inquiring request. Due to the fact that the number of the keywords used in searching process is reduced, occupied time of a search engine in the searching process can be reduced, searching efficiency is improved and source occupied quantity of the search engine can be reduced in the process of searching. In addition, more searching results satisfying requirements of a user can be obtained in searching due to reduction of the number of the keywords.
