Disclosed is an antibody which comprises: (i) an antibody heavy chain comprising an antibody heavy chain sequence of SEQ ID NO: 36 or a humanized or chimerised form of said antibody heavy chain comprising the CDR sequences of said antibody heavy chain sequence, and (ii) an antibody light chain comprising an antibody light chain sequence selected from SEQ ID NOs: 35, 54 and 55 or a humanized or chimerised form of said antibody light chain comprising the CDR sequences of said antibody light chain sequences. Also disclosed is the use of such an antibody or a conjugate thereof for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for use in a method of inhibiting growth of a cell expressing CLDN6 and being characterised by association of CLDN6 with its cell surface.
