A gas washout vent for a therapy system used for treatment of sleep disordered breathing, the gas washout vent comprising: at least one orifice; and a three dimensional, porous matrix (provided by elements stacked in differing orientations) covering the orifice. The matrix including a porous first face that faces the at least one orifice, a second face opposite the porous first face (porosity provided by slots) and a porous side (porosity provided by recesses 1278) between the faces. The gas washout vent is structured so that at least a portion of gas entering the matrix via the porous first face is diverted laterally and flows out of the matrix through the porous side. |
