An apparatus and a method for managing a variable encryption algorithm base on security environment changes, according to an embodiment of the present invention, may reinforce the security of a network in such a manner that: for each specific period, the number of times of occurrences of security events relating to failures of data encryption and decryption which are generated from a plurality of terminals connected through a network is counted, and for each said period, a security threat level according to the number of times of the security events is calculated and a data encryption algorithm according to the calculated security threat level is transmitted to the plurality of terminals to lead the plurality of terminals to perform data communication on the basis of the data encryption method changed for each said period.
