Disclosed are an encryptor/decryptor, an electronic apparatus including the encryptor/decryptor, and a method for operating the encryptor/decryptor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for operating an encryptor/decryptor includes the following steps: distributing an input plaintext stream to a plurality of encryption/decryption cores in a unit of a plurality of plaintext data pieces; performing a first operation in a first encrypting/decrypting core of the plurality of encrypting/decrypting cores; and encrypting the plaintext data into ciphertext data or decrypting the ciphertext data into plaintext data by each of the plurality of encrypting/decrypting cores, using a result of performing the first operation in the first encryptor/decryptor core.
