The present invention relates to a mobile terminal with a light emitting device and a method for controlling the same. The mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a camera, a light emitting part including light emitting units, and a control part which allows the light emitting part to emit light, to extract the depth information of an image received from the camera. The control part determines the number of light emitting units emitting light among the light emitting units, based on a distance between the camera and the object corresponding to the image. |
