The present invention relates to a positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery and a manufacturing method thereof. More specifically, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery includes: a positive electrode activation unit including a sulfur-carbon complex; and a positive electrode coating layer including an amphiphilic polymer prepared on at least one portion of a surface of the positive electrode activation unit and including a hydrophilic part and a hydrophobic part. Therefore, the present invention can improve cycling properties of a lithium-sulfur battery by suppressing a phenomenon that a lithium polysulfide is melt in an electrolyte.
