PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for automatically and correctly determining an attachment situation of carbon from a thermal image of a furnace wall surface of a coke oven chamber in a coke oven.SOLUTION: An apparatus 200 for determining a furnace wall surface state of a coke oven chamber in a coke oven comprises: wall surface image acquiring means 201 for acquiring distribution of heat radiance in a furnace wall surface of the coke oven chamber in the coke oven, as a thermal image composed of pixels corresponding to the heat radiance; emphasizing means 202 for setting an image obtained by subjecting the thermal image to emphasis processing of emphasizing a high concentration part with a prescribed width or less, as a joint and crack emphasized image; emphasized image dividing means 203 for dividing the emphasized image into a plurality of rectangular regions; concentration conjunction matrix deriving means for deriving a concentration conjunction matrix of the emphasized image, for each of the plurality of rectangular regions; feature amount deriving means 207 for deriving a feature amount of the concentration conjunction matrix for each of the plurality of rectangular regions; and wall surface state determining means 208 for determining an attachment situation of carbon in each of the plurality of rectangular regions, from the feature amount of each of the plurality of rectangular regions and information indicating a relation between the feature amount and the attachment situation of carbon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
