PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily confirm the surface effect other than a kind defined in print data.SOLUTION: A storage part 56D previously stores a surface effect selection table in which a density value, a kind of surface effect and a kind of association effect as another surface effect related to the kind of surface effect are associated with each other. A reading part 56K reads the kind of surface effect and the kind of association effect corresponding to the density value defined in first glossiness control version data from the surface effect selection table when it is determined that type information indicates test printing. A first generation part 56P generates second glossiness control version data in which the kind of surface effect defined in the first glossiness control version data, a glossy region, the read kind of association effect corresponding to the kind of surface effect and an association region giving the association effect are prescribed. A second generation part 56G generates special color material version data to be used in an execution part (printer) for applying a special color material to a recording medium from second glossiness control version data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
