The present invention relates to a lighting system and an operating method thereof. The present invention is to efficiently operate lighting devices located in the common region of lighting groups operated by a group unit. The present invention discloses a lighting system which includes a first lighting group which includes a sensing device, lighting control devices and LED modules, and LED module, a second lighting group which shares at least one among the lighting control devices and the LED modules and commonly controls them, and an operating method thereof.
