The present invention relates to a three-dimensional shape modeling apparatus and a three-dimensional shape modeling method using two-dimensional cross-sectional accumulation for producing two-dimensional cross-sectional images by imaging a hand-sketched cross-sectional diagram or a real-life object configured to show a cross-sectional shape and allowing three-dimensional shape modeling by combining the cross-sectional images. The three-dimensional shape modeling apparatus of the present invention includes: a camera imaging the hand-sketched cross-sectional diagram or the real-life object configured to show the cross-sectional shape; a cross-section generation unit generating two-dimensional cross-sectional information by extracting only an image from the image captured by the camera by outline image extraction; a cross-section regulation unit regulating the cross-sectional information based on regulation information input through an operation unit; a cross-section combination unit producing structure shape data by combining the cross-sections regulated by the cross-section regulation unit; and a three-dimensional shape modeling unit converting the shape data produced by the cross-section combination unit to three-dimensional shape modeling information and outputting the three-dimensional shape modeling information. |
