Provided is a copper porous sintered body (10) formed by sintering a plurality of copper fibers (11), wherein: the copper fibers (11) are made from copper or a copper alloy, with the diameter (R) being in the range of 0.02 to 1.0 mm and the ratio (L/R) of the length (L) and the diameter (R) being in the range of 4 to 2500; an oxygen-reduction layer (12) formed by a oxygen-reduction process is present on the surface of each copper fiber (11), and protrusions and recesses are formed by the oxygen-reduction layer; and, in a section where the copper fibers (11, 11) join, the oxygen-reduction layers (12, 12) formed on the surfaces of the respective fibers are integrally joined. |
