The present invention relates to a cylindrical core catcher and a sample collector comprising the same wherein a cover member is rotatably mounted on a cylindrical body to open and close an internal passage to prevent loss of a sample of sediment entering the internal passage when collecting the sample to the outside to improve a collection rate of samples. According to the present invention, the cylindrical core catcher comprises: a body of a hollow cylindrical shape having an internal passage formed in a longitudinal direction, into which a sediment sample enters; and a cover rotatably mounted on one side of the body. The body comprises: a through hole formed on the one side of the body; and a rotation support groove formed on a lower portion of the through hole in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the body. The cover comprises: a cover plate to open and close the internal passage of the body; and a rotation support member mounted on a connection member disposed on the cover plate and inserted into the rotation support groove to support rotation of the cover plate in a vertical direction.
