PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing a liver disease in a subject, a method for differentiating between NASH and NAFLD, diagnostic devices, and tools for implementing the methods.SOLUTION: A method for diagnosing a liver disease or a predisposition therefor in a subject comprises the steps of (a) determining the amount of at least one biomarker in a sample of a subject suspected to suffer from a liver disease and (b) comparing the determined amount of the at least one biomarker with a reference, thereby diagnosing a liver disease or a predisposition therefor.SELECTED DRAWING: None
