PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unidirectional discontinuous fiber belt by cutting a fiber material without freezing and without disturbing an orientation of filaments at a low cost.SOLUTION: The unidirectional discontinuous fiber belt can be obtained by a method comprising a cutting process in which a belt-like fiber bundle 22a including unidirectional continuous fibers is irradiated with a laser beam to form cutting lines at a plurality of parts in a longitudinal direction of the fiber bundle 22a with an angle within a range of 2-178° to a fiber direction. In the cutting process, the fiber bundle 22a is supported by a support body 24 having laser resistance and arranged on a lower surface of the fiber bundle 22a so as not to be cut by reflection or transmission of a laser beam.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
