PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet lamp that has reduced the unevenness of illuminance distribution in a circumferential direction in a longitudinal direction cross section.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, an ultraviolet lamp comprises: a light emitting tube 10 that includes an inner tube 11 which is 13-17 mm in internal diameter and both ends of which are sealed so that a discharge space 12 is provided inside, one pair of electrodes 16a, 16b provided at the respective ends of the discharge space 12, amalgam 13 including mercury encapsulated in the discharge space 12, and flare parts 15a, 15a, 15b, 15b formed by extending from both ends, and that radiates first ultraviolet light; and an outer tube 21 including a phosphor layer 20 that is provided facing the light emitting tube 10 via a space 30, connected with the flare parts 15a, 15a, 15b, 15b, irradiated with the first ultraviolet light, and radiates second ultraviolet light with a wavelength longer than the first ultraviolet light.
