PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency stop device of an elevator which can surely brake a lift body at overspeed traveling by a small-sized and simple constitution, and can prevent an erroneous operation when illegal oscillation occurs at the lift body, and the elevator equipped with the emergency stop device.SOLUTION: Rising control members 44 (45, 46) which hold brake elements and roller members in lower limit positions within movable ranges in a state that the brake elements are not pulled up by a brake element pull-up member 38, and permit a rise of the brake elements and the roller members in a state that the brake elements are pulled up by the brake element pull-up member are arranged at least at either of the brake elements 36a, 36b and the roller members 35a, 35b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
