DRYER AND DRYING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dryer capable of performing an agitation work efficiently even if an item to be processed is solidified and performing an efficient contacted state of the item to be processed against a heat transfer surface.SOLUTION: A dryer 1 comprises a lateral-installed type dryer main body 2 including an evaporator 21 storing item to be processed and agitator vanes 23 circulating around an axis line C in a substantial horizontal direction while being abutted to its inner wall 21A, a compressor for compressing water vapor transferred from the evaporator 21, and a condenser 4 for flowing the compressed water vapor and heat exchanged with the evaporator 21. The condenser 4 has the first condenser 4A stored in the evaporator 21 and arranged on at least a circulating orbit plane of the agitating vanes 23 and circulating around an axial line C and the second condenser 4B heat exchanging with the evaporator 21 from outside of the evaporator 21. The first condenser 4A has some pressing segments 43 for holding solid material got from the items to be processed between it and the inner wall 21A when it is circulated around a lower part in the evaporator 21 to enable the solid material to be deformed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
