摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can achieve low power consumption, and a drive method of the liquid crystal display device, and to provide a liquid crystal display device excellent in display quality and a drive method of the liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a scanning line, a signal line, a pixel having a pixel electrode, a thin film transistor, and a drive unit. When the drive unit holds a written state in the pixel electrode with a second image signal Vsig2L after writing a first image signal Vsig1H in the pixel electrode, the drive unit carries out operation of the first writing, a first stop, the second writing, and a second stop. In the first writing, the drive unit sequentially writes second image signals Vsig2L, Vsig2H in the pixel electrode in a period of three or more frames. In the first stop, the drive unit stops driving of the scanning line and the signal line. In the second writing, the drive unit writes the second image signal Vsig2L in a period of one frame.
