PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved light shielding body detection device and an automatic transaction device in which accuracy in detecting a light shielding body is standardized in the whole detection area.SOLUTION: A light shielding body detection device includes: a frame shape area in which a plurality of element rows constituted of one or more light emitting elements that emit light beams having diffusibility and one or more light receiving elements that receive the light beams are arranged in a frame shape; an acquisition portion that acquires, when the light emitting elements emit the light beams, a light receiving result corresponding to the light emission by the light receiving elements; and a detection portion that detects a position of a light shielding body on the basis of the light receiving result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
