A picture downloading method for a client and a device thereof. The method comprises the following steps: a client downloading a first picture corresponding to a picture characteristic value in a downloading request and text information corresponding to a text characteristic value in the downloading request at the same time according to the received downloading request (102); judging whether the first picture and a second picture corresponding to the text information and pre-stored in a server are originated from the same picture (103); and if the judgement result is no and the client does not pre-download the second picture, the client downloading the second picture from the server and only displaying the text information and the second picture in the client (105). The speed of acquiring a picture and text information by a user may be improved, and judging whether the picture corresponding to the picture characteristic value in the downloading request corresponds to the text information may avoid malicious tampering of picture characteristics in a downloading request, and thus avoid transaction disputes in, for example, online shopping. |
