PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption, or alternatively, to reduce a circuit area.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device has a function of storing data, and comprises an output terminal, first and second terminals, a first circuit, and a plurality of second circuits. The first circuit has a function of maintaining a potential at the output terminal at a high level or a low level. Each second circuit has first and second pass transistors electrically connected in series, and first and second storage circuits. Each of the first and second storage circuits has a function of making a potential holding node be in an electrically floating state. The potential holding nodes of the first and second storage circuits are electrically connected with gates of the first and second pass transistors, respectively. The first and second storage circuits may be provided with a transistor having an oxide semiconductor layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
