PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission device that is not apt to thermally deteriorates and can be formed inexpensively to have simple constitution and wide light distribution, and a luminaire with the light emission device.SOLUTION: A light emission device 1 comprises: a light emission body 2 having a substrate 8 and a light emission element 9 mounted on the side of one surface 8a of the substrate 8; a casing 4 provided with a power supply part 26 at one end side 4a and with a substrate fitting part on the other end side 4b, the other surface side of the light emission body 2 being fitted to the substrate fitting part; and a cover body 6 having a translucent cover body part 35 fitted to the other end side 4b of the casing 4 to cover the light emission body 2, and a columnar or spindle-like projection part 36 extended from a top part 37 of the cover body part 35 to the side of the substrate 8 and provided inside the color body part 35 such that a tip side 36 thereof does not come into contact with the side of the one surface 8a of the substrate 8, a part of radiant light of the light emission body 2 being made incident from an end face 38 of the projection part 36 to be guided and emitted from an outer peripheral surface 36c of the projection part 36 and the top part 37 of the cover body part 35.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
