PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system capable of estimating an open circuit voltage (OCV) of a battery with high accuracy, and a control method of the battery system.SOLUTION: The battery system comprises: a secondary battery 100; and a control apparatus 120 estimating an internal state of the secondary battery 100. The control apparatus 120 estimates an open circuit voltage using two of voltage after charging-time elapse information and voltage after discharging-time elapse information, at least one information of the voltage after charging-time elapse information and the voltage after discharging-time elapse information being approximate information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
